A session key lets you trade with fewer wallet prompts. Your main wallet sets its permissions and expiry, and can revoke access.

## Account permissions

A compromised session key can put funds at risk through trading, closes, and margin additions within its permissions.

## Session lifecycle

Control access from your main wallet

1. Authorize: Set permissions and expiry.
2. Trade: Use the approved permissions.
3. End access: Revoke or let it expire.
4. Start again: Authorize a new key.

Maximum session duration: 7 days at launch.

Existing positions and accepted actions continue after expiry or revocation. Accepted margin additions remain locked until activation or refund.

## Revoke access

Revoke the key from your main wallet, then review open positions and pending actions. Use a new key for future sessions after revocation. See [Wallet and session risks](https://docs.mog.xyz/risk/#wallets-and-sessions).
